Work History

Housing Coordinator

Loaves And Fishes For St. Louis
04.2021 - Current

As a Housing Coordinator my duties are to have the residents up in the morning. Make sure that their areas which included their living space, kitchen cabinet and refrigerator space were clean and free of clutter. While walking through the shelter I would walk through the shelter and if I seen something that needed attention I would inform my director of the issue. I also transported residents to the career center, library or the bus stop daily so that they could do what they need to do that day. I would sanitize the whole area and make the beds with clean bedding for the next family to come into the shelter. I go over the chore sheet daily to ensure that the resident completed their chore. When new families come into the shelter I make put together a hygiene bag together (bath towel, wash cloths, shampoo, body soap, etc for the family). I make sure that they have a cabinet, refrigerator, freezer, laundry day, and shower schedule labeled for them. I complete the shelter inventory of what each resident receives from our office, what we receive from our other location.

As a Case Manager I assisted the residents with getting their housing documents. I would also assist the family if they needed a child(ren) enrolled into school or transferred to our school district that our shelter is in. I assisted with linking them with mental health services. I kept a detailed progression of their stay at the shelter with the services that I was able to assist them with along with what they have accomplished on their own. I would walk with them through their journey of being in a shelter.

As a Shelter Monitor I would make their hygiene bag for them. I would take them and walk them through our shelter after they completed their intake for the shelter, and show them where everything is located in the shelter and answer any questions that they might have. I would take them to the library, career center, or the bus stop daily. I would sanitize the sleeping area when residents would leave. I would complete the laundry that the shelter would accumulate. I switched out the clothing in the donation closet. I played with the children. I would make sure that shelter was kept clean and organized.
