  • Performing daily analysis on all measures and requirements dealing with the Surgery Specialty Clinics which include, the Encounter Action Required Report (EARR), Missed Opportunities/No Shows, Clinic Utilization (CUSS), Recall report, NEAR report, Clinic Access Tool, and Consults
  • Serves as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for all Surgical Service Access measures and represent Surgery Service at all Access related meetings, at the direction of the Administrative Officer and Chief, Surgery.
  • Serves as SME and auditor for workflow processes related to patient care delivered in Surgery Specialty Clinics and ensures that daily reconciliation of all workflow processes within the Surgery Specialty Clinics occurs.
  • Serves as the primary contact for the creation of new clinic grids, and the modification of current clinic grids, working with both the clerical and clinical staff to develop optimal grids to best utilize their time slots and availability.
  • Use the Clinic Access Tool and CUSS Report on a routine basis to determine if appropriate clinic usage is taking place, and if revisions to clinic structures are necessary.
  • Tracks the status of all consults to the Surgical Service and apprises the relevant section chief of consults that are unresolved at agency specified time points specified all fee-basis/non-VA care consult requests in Surgery Service, maintaining a database for monitoring purposes.
  • Serves as the SME for all components of Practitioner Productivity as reported by the Office of Productivity, Efficiency and Staffing (OPES) and uses the Physician Productivity Cube, and other related data sources, to conduct productivity analysis.
  • Conducts regular reviews of the DSS labor mapping, meeting with Surgery Section Chiefs to determine appropriate mapping, and adjusting allocations as necessary to ensure clinical time is being appropriately captured.
  • Serves as the primary Surgery Service contact person for the Health Information & Management Service (HIMS), for purposes of addressing delinquencies and errors identified in Medical Record entries.

Medical Instrument Technician/GI LAB
