My title was Women's Overnight Supervisor. This was a secure home for women that were working through drug/alcohol issues and trying to get their life back on track. My job involved security of the women and supervising them overnight . I worked from midnight until 8 am by myself. I had a list of very minor cleaning and passing medications as prescribed by their doctors. I wrote and emailed nightly reports on each woman as needed and a general description of the evening.
This was an intense medical program that included the type of things covered by LPN's. I did patient care, including IV's, blood drawing and NG tubes, surgical dressings and passing all meds other than narcotics. I worked in General Surgery where I did both pre-op and post-op things as needed. I also worked ENT where I did hearing tests every day on Naval Personnel to make sure there was not hearing loss caused by being on the ship. I also ended up doing several office type things such as filing, answering phones, typing and keeping the records for a Civil Engineer all while in the Navy.
