At the Chateau I began working as a caregiver for noc shift where I would do checks on residents to make sure everyone was comfortable and safe in bed
During the night I was responsible for cleaning and folding laundry that was needed for the next day
Every two hours I would go in and assist the residents to the restroom in some cases I would change the residents briefs
After four months I was offered the opportunity to become a medication aid where I took a training on medications and how to properly handle
Giving meds to residents is all on a computer where I can see the medications each residents needs, entering doctors orders
Most of the day I would spend doing work on the computer where I would chart on residents,doctors notes and view medications
Along with giving out meds I call pharmacies to order new and refills
I was promoted to Lead med teach and Life Enrichment Partner at the same time
Being a lead I handle paperwork from families, doctors office and pharmacy
I keep up to date on medications and assist other med techs in keeping the cart organized
As the Life Enrichment Partner for Memory Care I am in charge of the activities that happen throughout the day
I spend a lot of time creating and coming up with new ideas that engage our residents
I create a calendar for the month to plan out what every hour of the day looks like with activities
I then meet with the memory care director to create big events
