Work History

Social Service Aide

Northampton County Children Youth And Families
Bethlehem, PA
10.1994 - Current

-Transported clients from new born to adults, to visits, appointments, helped them with grocery shopping.

-Supervise Bio-parents with their children that were taken and placed in Foster Care. Writing reports and reporting back to Caseworkers any issues that needed immediate attention by Caseworker, either during a visit or immediately after a visit.

During a visit, I would show parents how to properly hold, feed or change their child if a parent was not properly handling it or was struggling. I would make suggestion, to help make it easier for them.

-Calling Child-line when a child confided in me about what happened when that child lived with their Bio-Parent or Parents. As well as, informing the Caseworker of what the child or adolescent disclosed.

-Scheduling my transports to accommodate as many clients as my schedule would allow. Most days working past my scheduled hours to accommodate Caseworkers. Working weekends when needed to accommodate visits for Caseworkers who were looking for coverage for visits for Bio-parents that can only do weekend visits because of work schedules.

-I assisted Clerical when needed. When I had down time and all my work was caught up. I was responsible for making up binders that were used in the field by Emergency Services. I assisted with keeping up with a number of other small tasks, like other binders that were used in other departments and keeping on hand a small inventory of clothes for children that were placed in care and were taken with nothing, but the clothes they were wearing.
