  • As the Stock & Parts IV for the Alaska Military Youth Academy (AMYA), I am responsible for the inventory, ordering, repairing and disposal of over $4 million dollars in State equipment, roughly 3000 pieces.
  • Further I am responsible for the ordering, receiving, stocking, issuing of a warehouse that holds over 8000-line items, valued at over $7 million dollars.
  • I issue items to cadets and staff daily and perform Over the Counter (OC) database entries in the Integrated Resource Information System (IRIS).
  • Other IRIS transactions also consist of Purchase Orders (PO), Delivery Orders (DO), Fixed Asset Dispositions (FD), Fixed Asset Transfers (FT), as well as many more.
  • The Stock & Parts IV also procures, receives, accounts for, stores, distributes, and disposes of conventional and/or specialized supplies, equipment, parts, tools, materials, and services necessary to support organizational line functions.
  • I have created an on campus 'store' that allows all cadets to shop for items they require on a daily basis.
  • Maintaining a store and warehouse with only two personnel takes a great deal of maintaining priorities and flexibility.
  • I perform these task with great emphasis on customer service.
  • I serve as the onsite authority for a warehouse facility, supply center, parts depot, and/or maintenance shop for the entire AMYA campus.
  • Incumbents exercise a wide latitude of responsibility in coordinating and directing the operations of the facility, supply center, parts depot, and/or maintenance shop; performing the most advanced work; and formally directing a group of other warehouse staff by prioritizing and assigning work, directing, and reviewing tasks, setting schedules, determining methods and procedures, providing training and instruction, and evaluating and approving work.
  • Examples of Duties – Review, establish, and analyze work schedules; prioritize and plan work assignments considering the vehicles and/or equipment involved, availability of staff and equipment, deadlines, and other considerations; spot check work operations; review completed work, as needed, to ensure accuracy standards are met; and conduct performance evaluations.
  • Coordinate resolution of disciplinary and other personnel issues with appropriate management staff.
  • Train staff on all appropriate management information systems and/or databases equipment management system and facilitate their acquisition of mandatory procurement certifications.
  • Regularly review the operations and procedures of the warehouse facility, supply center, parts depot, and/or maintenance shop to ensure the continued ability to provide timely and efficient maintenance support.
