Summary
My life purpose has been to encourage and see people surrender their lives to the Lord and then be discipled in their faith. This includes all areas needed to grow spiritually. But I believe part of God's purpose for me has been to help people discern what is going on underneath the surface of their lives that might stop, hinder, or diminish what the Lord wants to do in their heart. Once discerned, then Biblical, practical, specific steps can be offered to help people grow and overcome in these areas. The Lord has answers for the brokenness people are experiencing today.

- Directed Outreach's Staff Training School in the years between 1986-2000. I developed and taught classes preparing trainees to disciple people in all areas of Christian ministry. It was particularly helpful in understanding how to minister to those with life-controlling problems, addictions and strongholds.
- Prepared, coordinated, and compiled lessons to help the students grow in personal understanding of their salvation, faith, and spiritual development in areas of maturity, character, goals, and convictions. New materials were added to keep the content current.
- Provided practical understanding to help students understand "the why" of their problems from a Biblical perspective.
- Monitored student progress with tests, personalized studies, and counseling sessions. Kept detailed records of students classwork and grades.
- Collaborated weekly with our director and other staff in evaluating and developing specific and individual help for each student.
- Led worship in some of our services and scheduled guest speakers who came in weekly.

Reading, Gardening, and Fishing
In the reading I have done, I have enjoyed such authors as C.S. lewis, Andrew Murray, Watchman Nee, Peter Scazzero, Chris Hodges, Sylvia Gunter, and many others. For 47 years now the Lord has always had the right book for me at the right time for my own(and others) personal growth.
Gardening and fishing has been a good way for me to relax.
