• Provides direct surgical patient care, collaborating with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and staff for patient flow, pre/post-op education, vital sign monitoring, and ensuring readiness for surgery or ICU transfer, all while adhering to evidence-based practices and serving the unique needs of Veterans.
• Working as a Circulating and Scrub nurse in Robotics, General, Neuro, Vascular, ENT, Orthopedic, and Gyn surgeries

• I have worked as a Pre surgery testing Nurse for 2 years. My role was to do comprehensive patient assessment thorough health histories, including past surgeries, conditions, allergies, and current medications. Perform physical exams and vital sign checks. Document accurately all findings, interventions, and communication. Review medication lists and advise on which medications to stop or continue. Communicate critical information and changes to surgeons and anesthesiologists.
• I did a vital role in PST by identifying risks, preventing delays, and ensuring a smooth, safe surgical journey for the patient.
• I also worked as a covid screening nurse in PST. I was responsible for assessing individuals for potential COVID-19 symptoms, exposure, and scheduling covid test prior to surgery. I also educated patients on isolation precautions, hygiene practices, and when to seek further medical attention based on CDC guidelines and test results.
• I communicated with all members of the health care team in a collaborative fashion. Shared information and observations of the patient in a manner that advocates for optimal care.

RN – Operating Room (Full time – 12 years)

• Provided patient care before, during, and after surgeries by prepping patients, managing surgical instruments, blood transfusions during emergencies, developing individualized treatment plans, and reviewing lab results. • Worked as a Charge Nurse in this trauma hospital and responded to life threatening injuries, coordinated with surgeons, anesthesiologists and other team members, and provided the best care to maximize their well-being at all stages of the surgery.
