I grew up in upstate New York where I briefly lived and worked on a farm- this is where I fell in love with animals! The farm I lived at had a pack of 11 dogs and I was the one who would do all of the “grooming” it was my beat up slicker brush and I against the world! I moved to Miami almost 5 years ago, when I was pregnant with my son. I took the first job could find which ended up being a food prep and cooking position for a school I lived near. I worked here for about a year and on my days off I would work for my neighbor who owned Brink Bullies breeding. I would wash his dogs and do their nails. Eventually I found some jobs hiring for dog grooming and I could not have applied faster. Up until now I had only ever bathed dogs but the idea of totally transforming their look captivated me. I have now been a pet stylist for 2 years and while I recognize that it is both a physically and mentally demanding job, I’ve loved every moment of it. I’ve worked with various breeds, sizes and temperaments these last two years. Naturally, I have had moments where my skills have been tested but in the end it made me a stronger groomer. I have shaved many matted dogs, I became the one in the salon everyone called when their 2pm apt came in matted. My goal is to not only make dogs look “pretty” but to work with the pet parent and educate them about the importance of grooming for the dogs health and well being.
