• Helps patients with activities of daily living (i.e., personal hygiene, dressing, eating, maintaining continence, turning/transferring/ambulation) and changing linen, as appropriate to setting. Also assists with non-medical patient care duties, such as, making coffee, transporting patients, and distributing ice, water and blankets.

• Obtains and records patient vital signs, weight, nutritional intake and output, etc; reports information and observations to nursing team members in a timely fashion.

• Performs routine urinary catheter care, baths containing chlorhexidine gluconate (CHG), blood glucose monitoring via finger-stick blood samples, and EKG testing.

• Collects and transports specimens, including, but not limited to, urine, stool and sputum, as requested.

• Acts as a "sitter" for patients needing constant observation.

• Checks, updates and maintains facility boards, pneumatic tube system and telemetry box reconciliation according to departmental policy, procedures and/or guidelines.

• Cleans patient bedside units and nursing areas not included in general housekeeping, and cleans equipment properly and distributes based on patient needs.

• Maintains inventory, requisitions and stocks work area with supplies and equipment.

• Politely greeted patients to promote exemplary care and enhance patient experience to uphold Kane Hall Barry Neurology reputation.
• Wrote accurate, detailed accounts of physician and patient encounters into EHR software using proper spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
• Provided quality care to patients by recording descriptive information in patient's plan including: diagnosis, treatment plan, procedures, lab and/or imaging results, and prescription medication.
• Improved efficiency and productivity of physician and clinic flow by ordering patient's current and previous medical records, labs, imaging, and procedure results.
• Reviewed approximately 22 medical records per day to select appropriate coding sequences and ensure coding data accurately reflects services provided.
• Cleaned and disinfected examination rooms to ensure all rooms are cared for according to sanitary standards for the safety of the next patient.

• Actively observe physician perform hip, shoulder, and knee surgeries using arthroscopic surgical methods.
• Earnestly watch as physician performs wrist alignments, amputations, total knee replacements, and suturing methods.
• Clean and disinfect operating rooms to ensure each room is cared for according to sanitary standards for the safety of the next patient.
