I am a former international journalist who spent close to two decades as a reporter and editor/executive editor with some of India’s largest English language newspapers, magazines, and websites - reporting from several countries across the world, and leading large and mid-sized editorial teams. A Ph.D. in media and communication (Bowling Green State Univ. OH), I teach courses in journalism, and strategic communications at Shippensburg University, PA, where I am also Director of the Ethnic Studies program. My current research interests are at the intersection of digital journalism, marginalization, and social change. My academic work has been published in multiple peer reviewed journals, and as book chapters. I am the author of two books Indian journalism and the impact of social media (Palgrave-Macmillan 2022), and an edited volume titled: Global Journalism in Comparative Perspective: Case Studies (Routledge, London, 2024). I specialize in technical and journalistic writing, copy editing, and DEI-related consulting.
