Punctual individual enthusiastically handling numerous tasks, including activities of daily living and assisting with serving meals and feeding patients in home and institutional environments. Skilled in ambulation assistance and patient transportation with patients in private home settings as well as in facilities. I am a Certified and trained HHA,who attended school to receive the education and training that was needed to become a Home Health Aide. I received First Aid training and other medical related experience that will allow me to confidently handle clients' home health needs. I demonstrated much success in working with clients of different backgrounds and needs which helped me to get a better understanding of the care that was needed. I am a reliable and honest worker with excellent communication and good judgment. I am an organized and dependable candidate successful at managing multiple priorities with a positive attitude and willingness to take on added responsibilities to meet team goals and deliver good patient care.
I worked in CLC-A ward which was a hospice unit and assisted and helped Veterans with end of life care. I utilized my training that was given to me by the VA Nursing staff during Nursing orientation and was shown how to give care for the Veterans on the unit by other trained Certified Nursing Assistants.
I assisted Veterans with being able to transport and accompany them to be able to go outside and spoke with them and allowed for them to be able to taken out of the unit and enjoy a different setting. I also took them and transported them in their wheelchairs for walks around the hospital which the veterans enjoyed to be able to do and get to have a different setting from being on the unit. Some of the Veterans I was able to have close relationships with and wanted me to take them to all of their appointments if possible and I really enjoyed being able to get to know them more and felt good about the work that I did
I was able to utilize my education and training that I received from the school I attended for Home Health Aide to receive my certification to be able to give the very good care to my patient. I was very close with the rest of the family that lived at the residence as well and assisted the patients daughter with information about the care that was given and any concerns that I had and observed with her mother. I really enjoyed being able to help my patient and her family and be able to provide the care that was needed so my patient was able to remain home and under the care of her daughter.
