Policy Advocacy, Development, and Evaluation-focused nonprofit professional passionate about working with social justice-focused nonprofits throughout California. Through policy-based advocacy, culturally responsive program evaluation, and community-defined fundraising, I seek to work with and strengthen my community, listen to the needs of those I serve, and positively influence the health and wellbeing of underserved communities and families throughout California.
- Serves as agency Development lead; researches, guides, writes, and develops strategy with senior leadership around new funding opportunities.
- Leads supervision of Development and Policy Advocacy teams.
- Leads statewide grant evaluation work in collaboration with specialist research and evaluation staff.
- Works with CEO and senior leadership to develop policy advocacy strategy and opportunities, serving as a nonprofit lead to a statewide coalition of 35+ agencies funded through the California Reducing Disparities Project.
- Regularly performs analysis of state mental and behavioral health policy; advocates to state officials and stakeholders on behalf of underserved communities.
- Managed reports and activities for 20+ foundation and government contracts; Worked both individually and with the Executive Team to write grant applications to private foundations and local, state, and federal government entities.
- Worked with Policy Advocacy team to develop advocacy strategy and talking points.
- Provided demographic and data analysis for all grant applications and program evaluation.
- Worked closely with the Chief Research Officer to perform evaluation of social justice programming.
- Promoted from an Associate position (beginning June 2017) in 2019.
- Assisted professors in facilitating an undergraduate business course titled "Philanthropy: A Cross Cultural Perspective". The course aimed to anchor students in the structures and practice of American philanthropy and was designed to expose students to the different ways cultural experiences and perspectives drive values and action.
