· Monitor and manage budgets and schedules for multiple large and complex Capital Investment Projects and programs of varying scope.

· Drive efficiency into project delivery through the monitoring of delivery metrics.

· Deliver assigned Capital Projects in accordance with policies and procedures set for in the Capital Investment Management (CIM) system to meet asset needs.

· Interact with Operations personnel to ensure project delivery program meets operations needs.

· Conduct process evaluations and facility inspections to identify capital improvements necessary to reliably meet future water supply needs.

· Design bench-scale and pilot-scale systems to optimize existing water treatment processes and evaluate source water treatability to select the most suitable and economical treatment process.

· Develop conceptual and detailed designs fornew and existing treatment facilities.

· Prepare, or manage via third party consulting firms technical, bidding and contractual documents associated with the delivery of assigned capital investment projects.

· Review engineering submittals including feasibility studies, basis of design memorandums, engineer’s reports, design drawings, design specifications and shop drawings for accuracy and conformity with existing systems and engineering standards.

· Oversee scope and quality of work to achieve the intent of all design concepts, regulatory and company standards.

· Serve as technical resource during construction, commissioning and initial operation of water systems.

· Perform corrosion control treatment evaluations and develop corrosion control treatment strategies to mitigate premise lead and copper corrosion.

· Contribute to the development of American Water Engineering Standards and specifications.

· Serve as technical expert in several drinking water treatment processes including high-rate clarification and granular media filtration, membrane treatment, aeration, adsorption, ion exchange and chlorine, ozone, and UV disinfection.

· Perform engineering calculations and contribute to the preparation of engineering and project reports.

· Conduct field investigations, develop engineering cost estimates and prepare design sketches and drawings.

· Contribute to the development of Engineering Standards and specifications.
