  • Began as interim and transitioned to the part-time superintendent role in February of 2023. Our agreement limits my service to 20 hours per week.
  • Led school safety and security improvement efforts and additions.
  • Discovered academic "not rated" (NR) rating and have led the district through the school improvement process for this first year of a two-year cycle partnered with Region 5 and TEA.
  • Started and continue work with the board of trustees to respect and maintain appropriate board/superintendent roles and responsibilities.
  • Initiated staff retention programs: district day care and farm-to-table program.

  • Reviewed plans and inspected ongoing construction to keep work in line with project goals.
  • Uncovered financial distress and negative fund balance that led to mid-year reduction-in-force proceedings in October of 2018 (130 staff members).
  • Protected staff to avoid a mass exodus of staff following the RIF.
  • Daily interacted with Houston area press during the financial distress in a way to salvage the district's reputation and demonstrate transparency to the local stakeholders.
  • Balanced budget and restored fund balance to near TEA recommended levels in three years.
  • Reorganized departments for operational efficiency.
  • Worked with the United States Deparment of Education's Office of Inspector General, FBI, Texas Rangers, and TEA to rectify initial financial and securities findings.
  • Discovered trustee living outside district and worked with board to rectify the error upon my arrival.
