Donald Perkins

My loyalty to the Union stems from the three generations before that were Union Sheet Metal Workers. Having always pushed myself to be at the height of my career and to motivate those who work with me. During the years spent in the field, most of that time was as a foreman or superintendent. I learned effective communication skills, coordinating, time management and the ability to encourage others to work more efficiently. As an organizer working with the youth to youth classes, I enjoy the excitement that comes to the Apprentices as they build their understanding of what it means to be a Union Sheet Metal Worker. As an International Organizer, I am eager to continue to motivate myself and others in building future relationships with new members and companies to a level that allows SMART to continue to be a strong and vibrant Union far into the future.
