Lisa Dow is a friend who owns Lindy's store. She was desperate for opening help, never having done any retail work she assured me I could handle it. My hours were M-F 6:00 am -10:00. I loved it, and was a bit disappointed when the gal that had quit came back, yet I understand she has a lot more experience in helping Lisa. I still work per-diem, yet I am seeking a regular schedule.
Exeter River Landing is a 55+ manufactured community. I was hired by the then manager as an activities director, liaison between the residents and manager, organize events for residents. Ownership took a drastic turn and my job was changed to asst. office manager. It was heartbreaking to see the programs end, the residents tried to keep them going. It became a conflict of interest, and I chose to leave. I'm grateful to have a few friends who still there I visit once in a while.
In 2008 I was working in the corporate world when my dad got sick and I took a sabbatical to help care for him.
Whilst in the hospital with him, I discovered I love being around geriatric individuals so much. I found my self not wanting to leave! Dad came home on hospice, I soley took care of him and he told me I should be a nurse. I decided to start by becoming an LNA. At 43 I was the oldest student in the class, yet knew I found my niche. I loved the residents and they loved me. Well, most of them.
Fast forward to December 1, 2009 in which I was in a horrific car accident which left me needing an LNA at Brigham and Women's hospital for 6 months, then on and off rehabilitation for 3 years. I'm quite the ice breaker at parties with my personal stories.
I now walk with a cane, but I am solid. I would be able to do all duties for this job, and be a help to current staff as I have much experience.
I do receive full benefits, so part time will not compromise that.
