I was a tax client of a tax service and was offered employement by my tax adviser and preparer as a receptionist and file room clerk I accepted the terms of employment, 3 years later I was promoted to a tax preparer I was trained by the owner upon completion of my training I was promoted to office manager of a office in a large credit union to build the business and promote the services my employer had to offer inside the credit union for their customers my office was open Mon-Wed-Fri from 9am to 5pm. I also opened an office at a local credit union for my employer which was open on Tuesdays from 9am to 5pm. After closing the other locations I returned to the home base office and trained and helped other preparers learn how to prepare basic individual tax returns as well as prepared complex tax returns myself Monday-Friday from 6pm to 11pm. Saturday from 9am-3pm. I overcame all the negative thoughts that told me I wasn't smart, trainable, or teachable to be able to work independently without supervision and no one to help me but I was able to train and teach myself to become a valuable asset to a company that I once had only been a tax client and it has been my greatest achievement and to one day own my own business or help a business grow beyond what they thought possible.
