  • provided medical care to patients undergoing radiation treatment for cancer. My job duties include conducting patient assessments, educating patients on their treatment, ensuring continuity of care, preparing patients for procedures, and completing other duties as assigned by doctors such as getting medical records, giving injections, and attending meetings. Assessed patients most at risk for treatment-related side effects and developed an appropriate plan of care, providing psychosocial support throughout the course of treatment.
  • Also worked as a brachytherapy nurse in which I worked closely with interdisciplinary teams to give internal radiation treatments. I was one of the team members who started internal radiation treatments for a breast cancer trial which entailed many changes to our brachytherapy suite including equipment, documentation, required supplies, and multidisciplinary team. I went to nursing and radiation seminars to talk about how this was done. Our internal radiation also included cervical, prostate, and endometrial cancers.
