- Safely and efficiently moving rail cars around in the plant. We go to units and replace cars that need to be loaded/unloaded while checking our track points and derails to make sure we are able to pass. We also bring in tracks near units that we will need next. All of this requires to have accurate car counts to ensure no hard couples, a safe speed around the plant and crossing, riding cars to our destinations, and making sure and holding our co workers accountable for safety.

- As someone who solders, my job is to prepare the carbide to be soldered first
- Then once it is ready i use a torch to effectively make the solder flow easily into or around the product
- Once it is finished i let it cool and then i go grind it on my machine
- I use a 6 finger chuck to then grind either the internal or external diameter to a certain thousands of an inch at a certain angle
- Then once it is grinded I polish and then lap the product
- Once I am finished with that, the product then gets inspected and gets shipped out
- With doing all of this in a timely and consistent fashion
- While following all PPE rules and regulations
- Laitheman: Knowing how to run and operate a laithe
- Using a laithe i would get blueprints to certain orders to be created
- I would cut material to a certain length and cut as many as the order needs
- Then chuck up on the material to then cut whatever certain angle or thread that is needed directly correlating with the blueprint
