Drew Nix

As in my third year as a Paraprofessional, I have had many opportunities to work with students of all ages. In my first year, I was blessed with the opportunity to work in summer school with elementary kids (self-contained and inclusion). As the school year approached, I was given the task of being a one-on-one aide with a student with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy at Hartselle Junior High, and after six months of doing that, I was called upon to work in the Self Contained unit the rest of the school year. By the next school year, I was called upon again to go to the High School where I served as a self-contained and inclusion aide, holding various responsibilities. Also, I have served as a Head/Assistant baseball coach in my three years of working. I have coached freshman and JV for most of my coaching years, but I also assisted the varsity team once those seasons were over. In my first year as a coach, we accomplished our ultimate goal in high school sports and won the 6A State Championship.
