-Patients attending the department were supervised for ongoing chemotherapy, palliative aspects of care, .Diagnostic appraisal of new patients who are referred with a suspicion or prior diagnosis of malignancy.

-Clinics encompassed general oncology and haematological malignancies.

- Neurological problems managed included MS , Epilepsy and 1st Seizure clinic, CVA, Movement Disorders

- Patients generally seen in these clinics included those with nerve or muscle disorders, headache, unexplained weakness or sensory symptoms.

-Timely delivery of medical orders, in accordance with good medical practice

- Timely communication of (1) to CCU consultant (and managing VMO); documentation and implementation of treatment plan

- Emergency treatment – CCU patients, MER/code blue ward patients

- Common procedures assisted included arthroscopies, Total Hip / Knee replacements & occasional Paediatric fracture .

-Assisted Registrars and consultant paediatrician with general admissions, special care & neonatology follow up.
-Attending Post C section & Live birth babies at delivery suits.

-Attending all emergencies & admission as required.

- Attended Acute psychiatric emergencies, e.g Acute Stress and depressive disorders ,Manic episodes, drug & alcohol related problems, aggression, violence and managing them subsequently.

- Liaising with the client’s family, GP, psychologist, case manager, social worker,Psych Triage & treating doctors in the community i.e CATT,

- Covering inpatient units ­and on calls.

- Preparing and presenting cases to mental health review board of clients ending up in acute in patient due to their ongoing mental illness

- Preparing and completing patient discharge plans.

-The Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Inpatient Service offerred comprehensive diagnostic evaluation and treatment of children and adolescents (typical age ranges from 5-17 years old) with a variety of emotional and behavioral problems including mood disorders, anxiety disorders, psychotic disorders, severe disruptive behavior, and suicide attempts.

-The inpatient treatment team included psychiatrists, psychologists, registered nurses, special education teachers, child life specialists, social workers, and occupational and recreational therapists.
