I am a graduated physician from India. I have had extensive experience in both hospital and private practice settings. Coming from a foreign medical school, I have been exposed to numerous urban and rural medical situations that required independent thinking and timely decision making skills. All of these exposures have contributed into shaping my desire to become a internal medicine physician. Willingness to take on added responsibilities to meet team goals.
In my observership in Onco-hematology out patient clinic. I closely observed patient consultations,diagnosis and treatment planning for hematological malignancies including leukemia and lymphoma,I participated in discussions regarding chemotherapy and immunotherapy. I was responsible for reviewing patient records, understanding lab results and treatment side effects.
I visited in outpatient consultations, gaining exposure to a variety of cardiovascular conditions. Observed venous ablation procedure. Assisted in history taking , physical examinations and tried to detect murmur and heart sounds of patients under the supervision of attending physicians. I also visited a hospital with the doctor where I participated in inpatient rounds and manage meant of various cardiovascular conditions and observed interventional procedures including stent placements,valve replacements and closure of PFO.
As an observership in pulmonary an ICU unit, I actively participated in daily rounds, observing the management of critically ill patients with conditions such as COPD exacerbations, ARDS, pulmonary embolism, and pre/post operative care. I assisted in reviewing patient histories,interpretation of the diagnostic reports. I gained insights into critical care management.
