After being on the tennis team for 4 years in high school, I made great connections and improved my teamwork skills. Not only did I consistently put in effort towards improving my skills, but I also got better at working with people and making them feel valuable for the work they put in. Working as a Ride Operator helped me improve my time management skills and challenged me by having to balance school and work. I also learned the importance of following safety procedures as I was surrounded by dangerous machinery every day. The safety of the guests and my colleagues was the number one priority at all times while working. I gained valuable experience communicating with guests which has helped me become better at answering questions on the spot. Being an Election Worker also improved my communication skills with people as I would often help them with questions or problems regarding casting their ballot. During high school, I completed the Project Lead The Way engineering pathway. Through this, I learned the principles of engineering, such as the engineering design process. I learned how to use 3d modeling software and machinery. In my senior year, I completed a capstone project with a partner where we decided upon a problem and spent the year working on it until we had a final product. This experience was very valuable as it gave me the opportunity to apply the skills I learned to make a product. This gave me the experience of working with a partner on a long-term project.
