Cadet Performer
My purpose as a cadet with Latin Illusions was to perform choreographed dance routines for quinceneras. A Quinceañera is a traditional Hispanic celebration marking a girl's 15th birthday.
In these quinces, there are often a number of dance performances. We would get hired to perform for the family and audience, and often instruct the main girl and her group on how to complete some of the dance routines. This also often included communicating with parents, and clients. Because of this communication, I have learned customer service. Due to having to balance the various dances and choreography, I can multitask, and I am light on my feet. To summarize:
- Executed choreographed dance routines with precision and creativity.
- Instructed others on the performance of complex, choreographed dance routines.
- Maintained clear communication with clients to understand their needs.
I have also been playing and involved in a variety of sports throughout the years, which I believe have helped with cognitive abilities like decision-making and problem-solving, while also learning discipline and resilience.
