Nixon Blackman

I have worked part-time at Wisconsin Distributors for the past few years. I spend time merchandising different stores and putting away drink deliveries. While in college, this has been a job that I have done while home in Milwaukee.

Me and a team of my classmates at Butler worked to help come up with ideas that would improve marketing of the new FOX Sports 1 lineup. We completed research and then brainstormed and presented a solution on how to improve marketing their brand to people who didn't yet fit their demographic.

Butler Sports Live is a student-run production company that broadcasts most of the sports at Butler University. I spent a while at Butler Sports Live, announcing Women's Volleyball games, as well as assisting with the setup and cleanup of each show.

As part of a class, I was able to be a part of the NBA All Star Game as a member of street crew. We were tasked with handing out merchandise, giving directions, and assisting All-Star Game attendees with anything they needed.

This internship was my first experience being part of a real business and I was tasked with a few things. I did multiple small things like answering the phones, running errands, etc. I later moved into bookkeeping and smaller parts of account managing.
