-Teach independent living and behavioral skills to 6 older adults with developmental disabilities in a group home, including those skills laid out in their habilitation goals, through:
-Observing maladaptive behaviors, and advise on strategies for behaving in more adaptive ways in response to thoughts and emotions
-Enforcing attainment of behavioral goals by checking in, discussing, demonstrating, and engaging in the activity where applicable
-Encouraging socialization with peers
-Providing support in activities of daily living such as cooking, laundry, and toileting
-Educating on healthy hygiene practices
-Ensuring consumption of a healthy diet as well as frequent engagement in exercise
- Coached a group of about 25 children and adolescents with trauma and other serious mental and behavioral health challenges, to guide them towards individual stated goals, as part of a team of about 20 coaches in a specialized mobile summer camp:
-assessed behaviors for progression toward stated goals
-collaborated with other staff members to share ideas and brainstorm helpful strategies regarding each camper's successes and challenges from that week
-actively listened to campers' problems, thoughts, and feelings, and comforted them when they needed support
-supervised the campers during field trips to parks, the movie theater, arcades, amusement parks, and other locations, to promote their safety, enjoyment, emotional regulation, socialization, and healthy behaviors
-Oversaw a summer classroom of 12 preschool-aged children with developmental disabilities in their playtime and educational activities
-Reinforced, monitored, and recorded in writing how an assigned 4 children of the 12 were progressing in key areas of child development, including fine motor, gross motor, speech, social, adaptive, and imagination skill areas
