Edward Callaghan

Current first year Electrical Engineering student at Virginia Tech who attended a STEM high school with a core technical education in engineering. Passionate about learning from, and collaborating with, all branches of engineering. Seeking work experience with a company that values socially and environmentally-responsible engineering practices.

• Eagle Scout (October 2022):
• Project: Led a team of 23 youth and adults in the design and build of a showcase trophy cabinet for the local swim team, including overall project management and budgets.
• Community Service: Participated in over 125 hours of community service projects ranging from local beautification projects to assisting with the operation of audio-visual equipment for a local church.
• Skills: Earned merit badges and life skills in topics such as engineering, robotics, and environmental science, as well as in citizenship, lifesaving, first aid, and CPR.
• Leadership: Held leadership positions such as Senior Patrol Leader, Troop Guide and Bugler.
• Swim Team (2015-2023):
• Community Service: Mentored younger swimmers as part of their Big/Little program. Assisted in running the team swim clinics and instructing younger team members.
• Honors: Two high school State Championships (2022, 2023). Three County Championships (2020, 2022, 2023). First Team All County (2021). High school team's Most Valuable Player award (2022).
• Leadership: Captain of State Championship winning high school swim team. Captain of the township recreational swim team.
