Summary

My objective is to find employment as a General Manager and/or Director of Operations for multiple locations in Nashville or Cleveland, TN. This must be in an aggressive automotive dealership that is always looking to grow and still maintain integrity! If you're looking for the person that comes to work to just do his job, I'm the wrong guy. I come with lots of wisdom and knowledge, 40 years, and the hunger to make a difference for the better, while training others to be the best they can be, while increasing CSI levels and raising total department gross and volume, and reducing expenses. My goal will always be to make your dealership the best it can be. I'm Currently moving to Tennessee and have friends there. I can start with 2 weeks notice, and will rent locally until we find a home or build a log style home. We live on a farm with horses, I'm in the gym daily, Love the Lord, and we are relocating to better suit our lifestyle. NY is out of control. Our NY home is sold and our youngest daughter will be attending Collage in Tennessee in the fall, and my wife is a school Nurse. We hope to be working there way before that.

  • Started as Pre-Owned Director for 3 locations, VW, Nissan, and Pre-Owned lot, 6 months later I was the GM and Pre-Owned Manager for all.
  • Reviewed financial statements including profit and loss accounts, balance sheets, cash flow statements, ensuring all expenses were correct, and always working on reducing them.
  • Set up a goggle/Yelp/ and Social media platform for tracking and soliciting reviews, while also regulating both factory review platforms.
  • Conducted regular meetings with lead Management personnel to discuss progress towards company goals, performance issues, potential opportunities and challenges. I also conducted regular training seminars, 12 steps to the sale etc...
  • Ensured compliance with federal, state and local requirements related to employment practices such as labor laws, wage regulations.
  • Maintained pre-owned inventory, with a 90 date turn rate and over a 55% look to book, maintaining over 350 pre-owned vehicles. Overseen all pricing on our websites to insure all our units were in the top 5 of their competitive sets at all times.
  • Worked with Pars Managers on pricing matrix, obsolescence returns, and stock orders while also overseeing our Service Managers on their Pars/Labor ratios, Cpl margins, and overall goals.
  • Identified operational problems or discrepancies and developed solutions through new procedures.
  • Set up a 12 month forecast for volume and gross for each department and created and advertising budget with all department Managers and our ad company.

  • In my first year I increased PUR by over $1600 and increased pre-owned volume from 20 units a month to over 100 and maintained that through the second year while also being promoted to the General Manager and doing all duties required for that position.

  • Established budgets and monitored performance against budget objectives, while setting goals for each department, monthly and yearly
  • This was in upstate NY, I was forced to leave and go back to my home town on Long Island, 4 hours away, to take care of my dying dad.
