Edward Hooten

I started at Freeport in 2011 as a truck driver. I immediately expressed interest in advancement and began to pursue additional knowledge, training and certifications to become green carded on as many pieces of equipment as possible, allowing me to gain knowledge of various mine operations.

To date, I am currently green-carded on all mine operations equipment. In the last year, I have worked as a fill-in supervisor, as needed, in the 07 position. In that capacity, I perform daily line-up, make rounds to check on production and safety, provide oversight to employees, including but not limited to: training, problem solving, communication & daily operations. I also have a years experience managing dispatch.

Adept at operating heavy machinery, I excell at Freeport-McMoRan Copper & Gold by enhancing product quality and exceeding performance targets. My strong problem-solving abilities and commitment to safety compliance foster a culture of excellence and teamwork. I have spearheaded training initiatives, significantly contributing to operational improvements and efficient project completion.
