Edward Lindsey is a partner in Dentons' Public Policy practice and serves as the Head of the Firm's Georgia State Government Affairs team. His focus is on advancing the public policy interests and objectives of clients in a wide array of fields including transportation, infrastructure, health care, local government, and education sectors. Edward has more than 40 years of legal, political and leadership experience, including 10 years as a Georgia State Representative and 3 terms as the House Majority Whip. In the House, he served on the House Appropriations, Judiciary, Education, Ways and Means, and Rules Committees. In addition, he served as a member of the Uniform Law Commission and the Georgia Commission on Family Violence. James Magazine, a statewide political journal, recognized him as one of Georgia's most influential legislators and the Georgia Chamber of Commerce named him as its Legislator of the Year in 2013. Since leaving the General Assembly and joining Dentons, he has been recognized by James Magazine as one of the state’s top lobbyist and a leading political lawyer.

  • After leaving the Georgia General Assembly, Edward was recruited by Dentons to head up its Georgia public policy group
  • As the leader of the team he has overseen a wide range of public policy initiatives on both the state and local level, and has worked with federal lobbyist on clients’ federal government concerns
  • He has earned the trust of Legislative leaders by being tapped for different study committees and recently completed a term on the State Election Board as the Speaker’s Georgia House appointee
  • He serves on the State Bar’s Legislative Committee and has also represented numerous political candidates and office holders on political law issues
  • Specifically as to health care issues, his policy efforts have included representing health care providers on policy issues before the General Assembly and regulatory agencies, as well as negotiating with local governments on a wide range of zoning, transportation, and other land issues
  • Edward has been recognized as one of the top lobbyists in the state
  • Among other recognitions, Chambers USA has given Edward its top Band 1 designation in the area of Government Relations.

  • Edward and three fellow lawyers founded the law firm in May, 1990
  • Edward was in charge of the litigation team of the firm
  • He practiced insurance defense litigation defending individuals, companies and institutions
  • A substantial part of his practice included representing health care providers in law suits
  • The firm steadily grew over the years with offices in four states and having over 50 lawyers when he left the firm to join Dentons in 2016.
