I first learned of the Convention of States more than four months ago. Initially, I knew little about the organization, and at the time, I knew nothing about grassroots activism. I did see that I have much time on my hands and don't like this country's direction. That's why volunteering for COS was an easy decision. As a fan of Mark Levin and knowing what is happening in this country politically, I wanted to put my skills to use for a cause that would improve our nation and society. COS goals will undoubtedly improve this country and the world. I have so much extra time because I have a stable home life, and due to a back injury that has required five surgeries over 15 years, I no longer do research at the University of Illinois. I am, however, just as productive and thirsty for knowledge.
Being an effective individual with difficulty sitting in one place for too long, I decided to throw myself into learning all I could about COS. I volunteered for the district captain and state content writer positions. Interestingly, Cyndi Franco sent me a text message earlier today to ensure I could access the correct slack workspace. She thanked me for volunteering, and I told her I had such a good time that I could gladly work many hours. Cyndi graciously sent me a link to some COS job postings, which has landed me, at the moment, applying for a job that I know I will love. I would be okay with this if this were a paying job.
