I am a sophomore at Wesleyan University, dedicated to pursuing a biology major and a history minor. I am interested in all fields of law, especially medical law. I am eager to deepen my understanding of the biological sciences while developing my reading and writing abilities in the realm of national history. Beyond the classroom, I actively seek opportunities to engage in research opportunities and internships that complement my academic pursuits.
Books are Wings is a non-profit organization committed to promoting the importance of reading and literature in younger, underprivileged areas of Providence, RI. Before starting my first year of college, I would travel to elementary schools around Providence and help give out books at free book drives. During the week, I would occasionally drive up to the Books are Wings headquarters and help transport, sticker, and package books for nearby schools.
During my second semester of senior year, I worked with a local bookstore, The Book Nerd, to help the owner stock shelves, make holiday displays, organize books, and help customers.
I volunteered to redecorate and paint the waiting room of the CODAC Behavioral Healthcare building in Providence, RI. Our goal was to create a more welcoming environment. We hoped that drug users seeking help would feel more content in navigating the next step of their recovery.
