Develop techniques for histology on novel biological/medical device combination product of varying sizes, explanted from various host species from R&D and Clinical studies
Provide GMP-compliant Histology data to support clinical release of stem cell-derived product
Receive and accession Clinical, GMP, and R&D samples using SOPs with documentation where applicable, or in a centralized tracking system
Process samples for paraffin or frozen microtomy for use in slide-based techniques and assays
Perform H&E staining and employ other special staining methods as appropriate, with use of automated staining platforms or manual benchtop techniques
Develop optimized protocols for R&D and Clinical samples for the visualization of tissue or cell-based protein or mRNA markers
Perform immunohistochemistry, immunofluorescence, or in-situ hybridization with use of automated platform or manual benchtops techniques
Analyze samples using high-throughput digital scanned images, brightfield microscopy, or confocal microscopy
Perform histological assessments of tissue morphology, graft-host responses, and other data
For each in vivo and in vitro study that undergoes a histological assay or assessment, communicate or transfer data to necessary personnel
If requested, develop a presentation or report that generally includes background information about the experiment and/or its hypothesis, images, or summary of findings
Perform challenging microtomy for collaborators for use in slide-based spatial genomics
Maintain laboratory equipment including the establishment of third-party service agreements
Maintain an inventory of supplies and reagents required to perform duties
Facilitate potential partnerships with outside organizations, such as a CRO by providing information and/or training where appropriate
Provide cost analysis of Histological activities for budgeting or projections
Provide guidance and help oversee daily activities of newly hired colleagues or lower-level personnel
Management of part-time Research Associate
