Work History

Landscape Gardener

Attic Angel Prairie Point
07.2024 - Current
  • Optimized outdoor spaces for functionality and visual appeal, incorporating elements such as walkways, patios, and water features.
  • Enhanced landscape aesthetics by designing and implementing creative garden layouts.
  • Revitalized dull or overgrown landscapes by conducting thorough evaluations and implementing appropriate rejuvenation strategies.
  • Raised property values for clients by implementing attractive landscaping designs that enhanced curb appeal.
  • Consistently met project deadlines through diligent planning, organization, and time management skills.

On top of my duties in care and maintenance I built out a phased plan for leadership to reduce input requirements saving roughly $40,000 annually. I used active listening and observation to solve long standing areas of friction between residents and leadership and provided a plan of maintenance that allowed the board to begin budget forecasting for the first time ever.

I also sit on the Sustainability Committee and have helped right ship by clarifying definition of values and goals, developing a long term plan, and brought in a diverse group of stakeholders to include them in the decision making process.

Parks Maintenance Worker | Golf Construction

City of Madison
08.2023 - 06.2024

As a member of the Golf Construction team I helped reimagine a 36 hole, 440 acre golf course. On top of my physical construction duties:

  • I acted as the natural plant community and ecology liaison for our team.
  • Contributed to overall design, taking into consideration playability, excitement factor, challenge and approachability, and physical location considerations for irrigation and drainage.
  • Helped build out plans from a rough guideline, contributing significantly to the aesthetic value of the projects.
  • Helped determine phasing and implementation to minimize disruption of play.

On top of my duties as a Parks Maintenance Worker I sat on the Parks Equity Committee's 'Strategic Planning and Budget Team.' I helped build a base of engaged community members to act as liaisons and champions within our areas of impact. I identified our most strategic areas of effort and halved the budgetary requirements for the universal languaging campaign while doubling the impact.

Research Lead | Key Crops

Gwenyn Hill Farm
04.2021 - 11.2021

On top of my duties on the farm I served as research lead for Gwenyn Hill's 'Key Crops.'

  • Contributed to the blog keeping stakeholders abreast of our efforts in producing bio-regionally appropriate varieties of locally grown produce. Broke down complex and often technical information into an approachable, accessible manner.
  • Labeled, tacked and monitored specimens throughout their lifecycle from propagation to harvest, maintaining detailed and accurate notes.
  • Partnered with UW Madison's Department of Agriculture to add meaningful datum to their knowledge base.
  • Participated in a controlled burn of a 40 acre oak woodland to revert it back to native Oak Savannah biome. Inventoried species/germination before and after to help determine longevity of native seedbank under stress from invasive pressures.
