Work History
COTA at The Comnity Health Clinic
1 Year 9 Months- I serviced Amish children with genetic conditions at the clinic and at the local respite center that was partnered with the clinic. I also helped run a school readiness program for ages 4-7 to help gain the skills needed for school since they did not often start school until they were 7 years old.
COTA at North Central Indiana Special Education Cooperative
2 Years- I served students at Warsaw Community Schools, Bremen Public Schools, and Tippecanoe Valley Schools.
- For my level 1B fieldwork, I was at Pathfinders Services where I worked alongside staff implementing different activities, I had learned in my OTA courses that they could include in their day.
- For my level 2A fieldwork, I was placed at Wabash-Miami Area Program in which the occupational therapy practitioners travel to five different school districts to work with serviced children. I had the opportunity to work with 32 different students and shadow a bunch more.
- For my level 2B, I was placed at Bluffton Regional Medical Center where I shadowed the OTA. Majority of the population that I had the opportunity to work with were apart of or adopted from foster care.
Fieldwork
1 Year- For my level 1A fieldwork, I was at Hopebridge Autism Therapy Center where I showed an OTA
Swim Lessons Instructor
7 Years- Taught group swim lessons to children at the aquatic center in my town for the first two years. After two years, I taught individual swimming lessons to children in my town.
Lifeguard
4 Years- Lifeguarded at the aquatic center in my town during the school year and a little bit during the summer. Lifeguarded at the public pool during the summer.
