I joined the Science National Honor Society for my school last year. I was nervous to join but it turned out to be one of the funnest club's to be in. I did over 15 hours in volunteering. I helped remove plants for my school to beautify it, and my school thanked us for this because it looks a lot nicer. My personal favorite experience was when I did this thing called "mol" day. Mol day is celebrated on 10/23, because of avagadro's number which is 6.02x10^23. My club did multiple experiments in front of other high school and elementary kids. My experiment was the "whoosh bottle," which is when you mix alcohol with fire. To make it even cooler, we mixed lithium chloride with the alcohol to make a pink flame, or copper sulfate which is used to make a green flame. My role was to make the whoosh bottle and help the students ignite it. Many of the students loved it and thankfully nobody got hurt. We did it many other times for other schools after mol day, so it wasn't just a one day thing. Im glad other students that don't have a mol day got to experience it from my school.

My HOSA experience

I joined HOSA at the start of my junior year in 2024 to help me in pursuing my goal of getting into medical school. Ever since I joined this organization, I have helped many people by doing community service. I have done a total of 25 hours for HOSA, and one example I can give is me helping out for a pumpkin patch. It started off easy at the first pumpkin patch but at the second one they had us doing hard labor, like carrying hay bales, rocks, wood, and just cleaning up the area, but in the end it looked great. I was also one of the few that qualified to go to state for HOSA by getting first place at area in clinical laboratory science, and I am actually the first to get a first place medal for my school at area for HOSA. Sadly I wasn't able to place in state, there were many other great and talented people, but I am glad I went since I got to meet and talk to people and learn about new opportunities. Overall, HOSA has helped me with meeting new people, learning new stuff, and helping me pursue my goal.
