I have always desired to be the best I can be. I’m very competitive and I show that in the work force as well. I want to be the best worker, the most efficient and knowledgeable. I enjoy challenges and thrive in stressful environments. No matter what it is: school, work or sports, I try my best. I graduated high school with a 3.909 GPA, helped lead our varsity basketball team to the state playoffs and played varsity golf as well. I take pride in my work, especially from the school cafe and the golf course. I know that I have excelled at each place I have worked at and can’t wait to continue to learn/ excel at whatever job I have in the future.
For a year and a half I worked at Glendoveer Golf and Tennis as an outside service member. I cleaned golf carts and cleaned the golf range as well. I also would deal with customers when it came to looking for lost items, replacing a dead cart, and some complaints about the golf course. From my time working here, I developed a love for the customers and helping them out as much as possible. I improved my teamwork and communication skills a lot as it is necessary to have these skills at this job. You must be able to work as a team with other employees to get the job done good and in time.
This was a volunteer-based job at the high school I went to. I worked at the school cafe called “Dee’s Corner Cafe” my junior and senior years. Working at the cafe, I learned a lot about business and how to operate a successful cafe. My time at the cafe was spent doing many things, I started off as a cook, but as I continued to learn I ended up doing every position in the cafe. I was a barista, point of sales, on the register, and even was a shift lead for my period during my senior year. I learned how to communicate clearly with others, and how not to get flustered even under stressful circumstances. Working in a cafe can be very stressful and it helped me learn patience and teamwork with my shift members.
At Burgerville, I was a cook. I was in charge of making any burgers or sandwiches. I also did dishes and cleaned the lobby at night. I needed to work with the other employees to be efficient and effective to ensure I was doing my job properly. I improved a lot of my skills such as patience and communication.
I am a good leader, I can be assertive and fair I have grown up as the oldest of 5 kids and learned this skill from a young age, having to watch over my younger siblings my whole life
I also have great communication skills I am always contacting my supervisors if problems arise and make sure my employees are on the same page as me From my previous cafe training and other jobs, I have broadened my horizon and learned a lot from my peers/supervisors
I am trustworthy You can trust me to be at my job on time and I will reach out to people if I am sick/busy ahead of time so people are prepared I have only called out of work one time in my whole life due to my health Besides that, I have gotten any shifts I couldn’t make covered by another employee
