Projects

Internship Class with a partnership with Grange Insurance:

We worked with Grange insurance to explore the effect territory factors would have for perils in both homeowner and auto insurance models. We used a XGBoost model to find the best territory factors for each peril. To do so we had to manipulate the parameters using either grid search and random search methods and find which parameters gave us the best factors. After finding the best territory factors, we had to incorporate them into the GLM model to get the final result. We also created a heat map to visualize the new relative rate.
