Responsibilities included:
- Approximately 2-3 times a month hiring LVNs and RNs for in-home healthcare positions; completing all preliminary paperwork which contained many detailed forms and criminal background checks and verification of license. Once job was offered orientation would follow, which lasted approximately 5 hours to officially hire employee. At this time all requirements, rules, code of conduct, and testing procedures with employees (non-clinical) were discussed.
- Maintaining close to 200 employee files at any given time (internal and external employees); verifying license was valid and up to date, completing annual background checks, verifying completion of required training to maintain Continuing Education Units for license, handling complaints/concerns from our patient's family/the nurse employed with patient, working with my Director of Nursing and Branch Manager very closely to handle any issues or concerns that may arise.
- Partaking in weekly and monthly HR calls.
- Going to other Maxim Offices to train fellow/new Human Resource staff in the field.
- Required to complete monthly/annual training per HIPAA and California State requirements.
- Although not required, made the decision to become CPR certified.
