I worked as a mid shift staff nurse in a high volume ER. I often performed as the triage nurse and although my position was mainly the adult side of the ER I frequently floated to the Texas Children’s section of the Emergency department to manage their 5 dedicated pediatric beds. I also performed the role of relief charge nurse when it was requested.

I joined the Critical Care Unit as a new graduate nurse after completing a critical care internship. I cared for seriously ill patients and began orienting to a night time charge nurse position.

I was accepted as a transfer to the Emergency Department from my role as an ER Registrar when I began my nursing school program. I performed EKGs, orthopedic interventions such as prefabricated splints and orthoglass splints as well as complicated wound care and assisted providers and nurses with procedures.
