During my employment here i started as a Kennel Attendant But quickly moved up into the role of a Veterinary assistant where my roles were the following,

• Enhanced patient care by assisting veterinarians with examinations and diagnostic procedures.
• helped maintain a clean and safe work environment by maintaining surgical instruments, equipment, and facilities.
• Assisted in the administration of medications, vaccinations, and treatments as prescribed by the veterinarian.
• Supported veterinary team in diagnostic imaging procedures such as radiographs and Echocardiograms.
• Keeping log of medical records by carefully documenting all relevant information for each patient visit.
• Reduced stress for patients with calming techniques during exams and procedures to help maintain a clam and safe environment for patient.
• Positioned animals for diagnostic imaging such as x-rays and scans.
• Cleaned and disinfected exam areas and rooms between appointment and kennels to prevent diseases and control odors.
• Assisted with patient intake and recorded symptoms and documented medical observations to inform Veterinarian to help treatment decisions.
• Helped with training of new veterinary assistants and support staff.
• Collected blood samples for laboratory analysis.
• Assisted with the preparation of animals for surgical procedures. Along with setting up the proper equipment needed for surgery.
• Cleaned, sterilized and packed surgical instruments and equipment using the autoclave.
• Processed blood and urine samples for in-house laboratory testing using Sedivue/UA Analyzer, Procyte and the Catalyst.
• Assisted veterinarians with euthanasia of animals. And also prepared proper paperwork needed for selected cremations.
• Managed phone calls and front desk tasks. Helping scheduling patients for appointment, all the way from routine check-ups and or surgery's.

During my time here, i spent the weekday shift as a server in the dining area. On the weekends i was Food Preparation for the kitchen and head cook on staff. My tasks where the following,

• Coordinated with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of orders.
• Demonstrated strong multitasking skills by managing multiple tables simultaneously without compromising service quality.
• Adhered to proper food handling procedures and safety guidelines for the well-being of guests and team members.
• Served food and beverages promptly with focused attention to residents needs.
• Created strong relationships with all the residents who lived in the facility. And also participated in out of work activity's such as bingo night and movie night.
• Maintained a clean and organized dining area, by bussing and resetting tables to keep dining room and work areas clean.
• Prepared ingredients according to precise specifications, and making sure prepped food was packaged and stored following proper handling and preservation methods.
• Sanitized work surfaces between food preparation, avoiding cross-contamination and maintaining food safety guidelines.
• Washed, peeled, and cut fruits and vegetables in advance and also prepared sandwiches and salads and other specialty items according to customer specifications.
• Sanitized pots, pans, utensils, kitchen appliances and equipment using company-approved cleaning supplies. Consistently keeping adequate supplies on hand.

I spent a few days out of the week traveling to Zazu's to help the owner and fellow staff at the sanctuary. My goal here was to help with maintaining a happy and healthy environment for over 500 surrendered parrots. my roles included were,

• Preparing fresh fruits and vegetables for the birds while securing and packaging them for proper distribution.
• Improved bird habitat through regular cleaning of cages and rooms, along with toys, perches and food/water dishes where the bird resided
• Handled birds safely by monitoring behavior and eliminating safety hazards during one on one time, which included a variety of enrichment activity's.
• Fed and watered animals to provide necessary nutrients and keep the birds healthy.
• Helped secure valuable donations such as cages, toys and donated fresh fruit and vegetables from residents of the area.
