I am the assistant to the Vice President of our company. The Vice President also is the manager of our Transportation department. My duties as assistant underwriter is communicate with retail agents, receive commercial auto submissions from retail agents. I review submissions to see if they fit guidelines for each of our insurance carriers. I communicate with the personnel at the insurance carriers concerning any additional information needed. I obtain quotes from carriers, which often consist of me rating the submissions in the carriers systems. If we bind the account I am responsible for servicing that account. I am also responsible for taking care of emails and phone calls of the manager when she is out of the office. I am the senior underwriter assistant and problem shoot for the other underwriter assistants.
