Having worked for Marley for over 2 years now I feel very comfortable cathing her, standing by her when she has her seizures and dealing with any thing that comes up after a seizure, and setting up her meals and liquids through her G tube, including her twice daily med protocol .
When I began working for Marley I had never done this type of work. Natalie , Amber, and Mike were all very patient with me and my learning curve, and always trusting and incourageing.
Now my job entails helping Marley live a happy, healthy, loving , and comfortable life. On my shifts I make Marley’s food( when needed) , mix her daily rx cocktail, Cath her every 2 to 3 hours, change her nappy , and brush her teeth and apply lip balm to keep her lips from getting dry and cracked. I also make an effort to help around the house, to take a few things off the list of chores for my employer. I vacuum , wash and fold laundry when needed, I also make up Marley’s liquid diet, for AM and PM feedings, and administer her daily meds. I try to make sure Mars’ supplies are kept filled in their containers, and keep Natalie in the loop in case I see something getting low, though the main care giver, Amber, is always on top on all Marley’s supply and rx needs.
I have taken and passed a CPR class and a class on the proper safety and sanitary guidelines for working with Marley’s meds
