I am an experienced and Registered Radiologic Technologist in good standing with the Association of Registered Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) as well as the American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT). I am well versed in fluoroscopic imaging, diagnostic imaging, and trauma radiographic imaging. I am compassionate and love being part of the exceptional team of ECU Health Pain Management.
I have been a Registered Radiologic Technologist since November, 1976. Throughout the past 45+ years I have had a wonderful career with many opportunities to learn from some of the best and well known Radiologists. After graduating college, I began working for Craven County Hospital in New Bern, NC for a period of one year. In January, 1978 I was hired with Pitt County Memorial Hospital Radiology Department and worked until 1982. After the birth of my first child, I worked in a Urology office for approximately 7 years total. At this time, I was recommended by a friend to be the manager of a Greenville surgical practice with Dr. David Pearasall after the birth of my 2nd child in 1986. Around 1996 I was rehired by the now Vidant Hospital and remained there as a Staff Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist and Charge Technologist until May of 2008 when I was hired with the Vidant Pain Management Center.
I have performed radiographic exams on patients, provided patient education, and instructions prior to and after their radiographic procedures. Radiation safety has always been a top priority for myself, my patients, and staff from radiation exposure. I have maintained HIPPA confidentiality and followed hospital or private practice guidelines when obtaining patient information or performing procedures.
In October, 2019 I retired from full time employment with the now ECU Health Pain Management Center after working 12 years. After 3 months, a position was created for me to work in a supplemental position when Pain Management was minus one of their Radiologic Technologists and will continue in this role for the next few months.
