Adept at multitasking and maintaining a positive attitude, I leveraged my fast learning and customer service skills at Eyes on Broad to enhance patient comfort and efficiency. Recognized for my attention to detail and team collaboration, In my year long job at Jake’s Burgers and beer where I practiced multitasking by being able to do multiple positions. I consistently contributed to performance improvements, earning accolades for leadership roles and performance at Lake Ridge High School's JROTC program.
As an eye exam assistant, I began my duties by thoroughly cleaning and organizing the exam rooms to ensure a comfortable and welcoming environment for every patient.
Once my patient was comfortable, I carefully conducted an auto refraction test, which precisely measures and estimates a prescription for glasses or contact lenses.
Additionally, I perform another test called retinal imaging, which can detect early eye diseases and conditions, and allows for comparison of images over time.
Before heading into the exam room, I check for high, low, or normal blood pressure in the eye. This information is helpful to the doctor and makes my job easier when documenting it in the patient's chart.
Finally, while Dr. Colston begins the exam, I'm always jotting down information on the computer for the patient's file. As he goes, he will tell me what important things need to go in each section so that it's all up to date.
Occasionally, when needed, I perform the visual acuity test for Dr. Colston when he is busy with another patient. This helps to speed up the exam process and improve efficiency.
This job is repetitive and sometimes even fast-paced, but it includes lots of customer service. My biggest responsibility was ensuring comfort and safety for each and every patient in that chair. It’s always important to make a personal connection with each individual so that they feel comfortable and willing to come back again!
I received Citations, ribbons, and awards at the end of the year for ROTC accomplishments
