• Assisted in the daily cares of patient such as turns, changing diapers, rotating pulse oximetry sites, and monitoring vital signs.
• Listened to heart sounds, lung sounds, and bowel sounds on neonatal patient.
• Assisted RN with NG tube assessments, milk and formula preparation, and NG tube feedings.
• Learned how to cluster care for premature patient and collaborated with PT, OT, and Speech Pathology to maintain a comfortable and conducive environment for healing.

Pediatric Heart Center - Children's Hospital - St. Louis, Missouri

• Learned about multiple heart conditions in pediatric patients including The Berlin Heart/VAD device and how to manage care for a patient with this device, such as looking for fibrin buildup, understanding the pump, and analyzing the numbers on the device.
• Assisted with daily cares such as positioning, changing diapers, measuring intake and output, completing tube feedings, and monitoring vital signs.
• Worked on communication with pediatrics amongst ages ranging from 4 months old to 15 years old, as well as communicating with family.

Labor and Delivery Floor - St. Francis Hospital - Cape Girardeau, Missouri

• Completed skills under RN supervision such as foley catheter insertion, fundal massages, repositioning throughout labor stages, and interpreting fetal electrode monitoring.
• Observed epidural insertion and medication administration, C-section procedure, and frequent patient assessment throughout labor.
• Cared for post partum mother and babies by monitoring vital signs, completing assessments, and assisting with hygiene needs.

Intensive Care Unit/Emergency Room - St. Francis Hospital - Cape Girardeau, Missouri

• Completed skills under RN supervision such as inserting intravenous lines, priming IV lines, programming IV pumps, drawing labs, completing EKGs, and removing intravenous catheters.
• Learned about critical care medications, PICC line insertion methods, and cares needed for intubated patients.

• Planned formal recruitment for Alpha Xi Delta through teaching strategies, scheduling events, and delegating tasks to my team.
• Sat on the executive board of my chapter working with risk management and overseeing all members.
