I'm a dedicated secondary English education student focused on providing students with meaningful learning experiences. I seek to build strong connections with students and faculty, create safe and productive learning environments, and help students achieve success. My experiences in teacher observation and practicum have taught me classroom leadership and management skills.
I completed a practicum experience at Logansport High School with one of their English teachers. During my time there, I taught a group of students, worked with students one on one, observed whole classes, and helped organize learning materials.
I worked with Logansport High School's librarian to manage book check-ins and check-outs, organize library shelves, help students and teachers locate specific books, give reading recommendations, and oversee groups of students while they visited the library.
During my junior and senior years of high school, I was enrolled in Indiana University Kokomo's Tomorrow's Teachers program. Through this program, I observed and assisted many teachers across multiple elementary and secondary levels. I gained an understanding of a teacher's role in the classroom and how they go about fostering student learning.
