The mission of MSPHI is to Engage in partnerships and activities that improve Mississippi’s health. This is accomplished by developing and maintaining organizational relationships and trust, utilizing innovative strategies, mastering multi-sector data as a management tool and incorporating process and outcome evaluation as integral components of MSPHI work. The Institute is active at the national, regional, state and local level in focus areas including Public Health, Population Health, Community Health, Use Disorders, Opioids, Maternal and Child Health, Policy, Community Collaboration, Data, Health Care Systems Innovation, Health Disparities, and Health Equity. Grew the annual budget from $3,000 to over 5 million by 2015.
