Walt Disney World Cultural Representative Program
1 Year- Working at Epcot has proven my confidence working in high volume hospitality. Conveying stories of my home and culture to guests is not only a pleasure but has also improved my skills in storytelling, guest interaction and allows me to successfully complete the goals of what Walt Disney’s original plan for the park was. The first half of the program involved working in quick service food and beverage as a seater, greeter and stocker. These roles involved navigating high volume cash handling whilst multitasking guest interaction which would often be quite short. Despite these short interactions, I would thrive to provide the best service possible and make a lasting impact on the guest. I quickly progressed into a training role in the UK pavilion where I was coordinating the training of new cast members.
- As a server in the Rose and Crown I was able to use my years of high-quality food and beverage experience to provide excellent service to guests. The restaurant firework dining package allowed me to coordinate and execute event style dining nightly which tested and improved my time management skills.
- As a trainer in the restaurant, I passed on my vast food and beverage knowledge, POS skills and guided my trainees through the extremely important allergy process.

6 Years 11 Months- Working in the 2AA rosette restaurant developed my knowledge of fine dining standards as well as food and beverage knowledge. Throughout my time at the hotel I completed many food safety qualifications and developed my service standards both in the restaurant and through the phone and online reservation systems. During my final year at the hotel, I was promoted to team leader. This allowed me to join the leadership team which developed my understanding of overseeing daily floor and back of house operations. I also took over the training of new staff members which I enjoyed immensely.
Walt Disney World Cultural Exchange Program
2 Months- After completing my degree I took part in the Walt Disney World Cultural Exchange Program. This program saw me work at Disney’s Port Orleans Riverside resort. Working at this resort taught me the high standards Disney instil in their cast members so that guest satisfaction rates are of the highest level. Working at this resort during the busy summer months improved my time management skills, taught me how to work in high-pressure scenarios and how to, in some cases, complete guest recovery so that guests remained happy.
